Texas Public Power Association Names Shelly Botkin Executive Director

September 3, 2021 (AUSTIN) — The Texas Public Power Association (TPPA), a trade association representing the 72 municipally-owned electric utilities (MOUs) in Texas, announced today that Shelly Botkin has joined the association as its executive director starting September 13.

A five-member TPPA Search Committee selected Botkin in August following a search conducted in May-August 2021.

TPPA Board President Alicia Hooks said, “Shelly has a long career devoted to public service. We are pleased that she will be dedicating her time and talent to representing TPPA members. Her prior experience includes serving as a Senior Policy Analyst in the Texas Senate and House, Director of Corporate Communications and Government Relations for ERCOT and as a Commissioner at the PUCT. In addition to her extensive legislative and regulatory experience, Shelly understands the critical role of public power in Texas.”
